The very warm weather has fooled many spring bloomers into breaking bud too soon.
We're expecting a harsh change in the weather starting tomorrow.
Most of you have already gotten a taste of the bitter cold,
so you know what's coming my way.

But, my poor flowers have no idea what's in store for them,
so before they all get frostbitten, I took a few pictures.

These Camellias should not be opening until March

I wouldn't usually expect to see the Narcissus blooming for weeks yet

    nor the Carolina Jasmine [IMG]

They all look so cheerful, I don't have the heart to tell them . . . [IMG]

The flower in that second picture is absolutely beautiful Zuzu! Is that a Camillia too?

Zuzu your photographs are simply lovely. The flower in the second photograph looks as though it's made from fine voile - really stunning. :D

Thanks for the nice compliments, you're all so kind.
We were fortunate to find several great older varieties of Camellias
already well established on the property when we bought it.
But none of them were tagged, so most of those remain a mystery to me.

Yes the white flower in the second photo is also a Camellia,
it is "Nuccio's Gem" (one of our own additions, so I know the name).

The temperatures are beginning to fall today,
so I took the camera outside again this morning, and snapped a few more.

Here is another one we planted, I think it may be my most favorite of all,
    "Pink Perfection"

This older one is fun, every flower on it is different from the next
rangeing in color from almost clear white to solid pink.

    Here's another unidentified oldie.

I noticed this Spring Snowflake in bloom, too
    I hope it's name [IMG]
is not a sign of the weather to come.

Boy, Camellias sure are gorgeous! I don't remember seeing any around here so I assume they need warmer temperatures then zone 5? Beautiful Zuzu, and I think the pink one is my favorite too.

They are all beautiful Zuzu but the perfectly white one if my favorite. It just says innocence and purity.
