Just a few things that's blooming still, but we're expecting a couple of days with freezing temps, so I figured I'd better get their pictures now.

The Mini Cannas shine bright out there!

And this Aloe decided to bloom for the first time...

And the bees were just loving this lone Passion Flower

Cheryl, the freeze may take the blooms, but it sure can't take all the enjoyment we all have had looking at your garden!
I'll be picking green tomatoes this afternoon. So will my husband, but he doesn't know it yet ;) .

I did not realize aloe bloomed. I have had giant aloe too heavy to carry in for the winter much less find a spot in the 'winter basement garden', so I would cut off the shoots and let them grow till they too got too big. Never a bloom. :-(

Nice piccies. Isn't that Canna lovely. The scene with the cow skull looks very "Old West-ish". I like the looks of that little corner of your garden.
...and what about those bees! They seemed wild about that flower.

I wish that I could grow passion flowers here, darn it. I have tried them on the west and east sides of my lil garden house, but alas--they die. I am not sure what else I can do. I may try one, final time.
The problem is where I live in the world. Not many folks have success growing them here. I think that it needs to be a little dryer and warmer.

That species that you have shown on this thread is particularly attractive, I find. The gentle pastel-coloured petals in combination with the purple stamen--just gorgeous.
I am passionate about this type of flower. ;)
    Can you tell?

I'm so glad you got the pictures for us Cheryl. I hope the temeperatures don't drop too low so that they stay blooming for a while longer.

Jane and Eileen... we're only expecting to get to freezing for about 3-5 hours on Monday and Tuesday night. I'm really curious to see how some new things will do.

Jerry... I have Soap Aloe that blooms a couple times a year, but this is the first this "regular" aloe has even shown signs of blooming. It was quite a surprise.

Sjoerd... I thought of you and your recent posts on your beekeeping when I saw these guys. I just knew you'd like to see them. And the Passion flower is a "Lavendar Lady"... she is blooming alot longer than the "regular" one.

sNs... thanks so much. I've seen photos of the red ones... they certainly are gorgeous.

DonnaS... I'm pretty sure this first good freeze will put an end to most of the "colors" around here. I just watched the news and we're expected to be back in the 50 to 70F range by the end of the week.

    Thanks everyone!

Gorgeous blooms you still have there. I will try to keep the below freezing temps up here so it won't bother your plants ;)

    Thanks Frank and Bunkie!
I've really enjoyed having blooms this late in the year since we've been so warm. I think that's why the Aloe finally had a chance to bloom.
