Here in central Ohio, the wild black raspberries are just now starting to ripen. I was out for 1 1/2 hours this morning and got about 2 quarts. In a week or week and a half I will pick again. This year we got some pretty good rain just as the berries were starting to grow so they are pretty good sized this year. I got all of these from around the edge of my property. Gonna have some good home made raspberry jam this winter.

Our dew berries and May berries and Black Berries were gone when I got home from Montana.I usually don't pick them anyway.

We have a lot of wild blackberries around our area too. The wild ones are very seedy, so I mostly use them for jelly. This year I bought some bareroot berries that say they're "seedless"...we'll see!

I have started picking my raspberries and am not sure what to do with them! For the last 2 years I have made a boozy rumtopf for Christmas, but with everyone being ill last christmas, I ended up bottling the liquour and freezing the fruit. I am tempted by jam so may just freeze them in batches to either make into jam later, or use in icecreams or desserts. Hmmm, decisions decisions when there are so many yummy things about.
