A very dear friend of mine, and her family, came to town for a conference so she could present her paper. I got to spend a little time with them and it was SO much fun. She's much younger than me, I'm sort of her surrogate Mama, but we're also just really, really good friends. I'm close with her husband and kids. Unfortunately her little one got sick, so we couldn't go out like we'd planned. Instead we hung out in her hotel room and worked our way through a couple bottles of vinho verde, and had a blast!! The party people! That's Jess on my left, and her husband Nate. I really love this one of Jess and me. Their son Aidan (a moody teen lol) finally consented to be in one of the pics. And then sweet Miss Morgan, who'd been sleeping because she wasn't well, popped up for a minute too! Sorry for the crappy quality of the images. Cell phone + bad lighting = fuzzy pics. But still, you can see how happy we all are, and that's the important thing.
