My husband is currently between contracts and having some time off. This afternoon we went to the eye clinic at our local hospital because I have had some floaters in my left eye and a little bit of visual disturbance...After a very very thorough examination it was determined that I will be having surgery tomorrow(Wednesday ) to repair the detached retina in that left eye.

I cannot fault the staff in the clinic.I have been treated like royalty and with kindness and respect. A lot of people do not hold our National Health Service in high regard but I have never shared that opinion and I never will.

I'll come and say hello again when the world becomes less fuzzy.

In the meantime though,if you have any concerns about your eyes please get it sorted ASAP!

Hope the surgery is quick and easy. See you when you can see us clearer. ;)

I have a cataract in....I forget which eye...but the Dr. says it's a slow growing type so it could be 5 more years before I need to have it taken care of. My hubby, on the other hand, has two very quickly growing ones that will probably mean two surgeries for him sometime next year.

I'm so glad you went to the eye clinic and that they are going to sort your problem quickly. I'm keeping everything crossed for you and hope your surgery goes well and without any complications.

I'm glad you decided to see the Dr. about this and that that you were able to have the surgery so soon. I hope everything goes smoothly and you have a quick recovery.

We will miss you while you are recovering from your eye surgery, but as Eileen said, it's a good thing that you can get it scheduled so quickly.
Please take care of yourself. We will all be thinking of you.

I am glad that you will have your eye repaired. There are a couple of different procedures...has your doc explained to you which method they will be using?

    Anyway, do hurry back.

Thank you for your good wishes.Apparently I am to have some sort of 'prop' inserted to hold the retina back against the eyeball...

    See you all soon.

Good luck! I hope you're back with us again soon.

A dear friend had a similar procedure several ears ago for his detached retina. Went smoothly, no issues, and I'm sure yours will follow suit!

Let us know how you're doing when you can!
