Ok so every house I have lived in with hardwood floors - the floor by the front door takes a lot of abuse and you want to be careful about what to put on the wood to protect it. Short of pulling out wood and having a tile section................what kind of mat do folks use that does not scratch up or react with today's finishes?
I have one of those commerical mats you see in stores. Black with the rubber backing. They don't slip and slide and are larger than the mats we find in stores.
If you can find a rubber mat that has those suction things at the bottom, then it could be good since it wouldn't slide around to scratch your hardwood.
rubber matting is good enough. try waxing those floors underneath the door too. and watch the hinges, they might be falling off that might scratch the floor
Go for rubber matting that have different section in it. They are good enough and will protect your hardwood near doors.
Yes, I agree with you rubber matting is perfect because it is not slippery and not so costly as well..!!
