I saw on the internet news that there was a huge accident on I-10 near Beaumont, Texas. It wasn't near you was it Cheryl. I hope you were able to get to your dinner.
It said 140 cars and near a 100 people injured and two died. It was very foggy there and the accident was around 10 am.

Dooley, She lives about 45 minutes from where it happened. Hope she wasn't out driving in that.

We checked with my sisters boyfriend. He is visiting about an hour and a half west of the accident. He hadn't heard about the accident until we called and told him.

That is too close to Cheryl not to be concerned. She said commenting on the fog this morning that she did not have to go anywhere. She does have so many relatives in the area, I hope none of them were anywhere the accident.

I'm okay... there was no way I would have drove in that fog this morning. And the site of the accident is about 1/2 hour east of me. Traffic from I10 was diverted to Hwy.90 which is the biggest highway near me... and naturally it was backed up in both directions. But, since I know the backroads I was able to avoid any long waits and made it to my brothers and hubby's sister's homes without any problems.
Sad for all those families affected. :'(

After watching the 10 o'clock news.... it's amazing there wasn't more fatalities.
I've been guilty of going ahead and leaving for work when it was pretty foggy. From now on... guess who's going to be late to the office on those days?? Yep... ME!

Thank goodness you weren't travelling on that road Cheryl. Driving in fog is something I've never done. So much better to stay at home safe and sound.

We have fog here many mornings and I generally wait for it to go before I go out. Through the years I have driven in thick heavy fog and it's not fun. People still drive the speed limit and if someone is ahead of the it's, Oh well!
Many, many don't use their lights either. You can't see them until it's too late.
I can see why the big trucks drive in it, they have schedules to meet but if you can wait until it lightens up you should stay home and wait.

Just the other morning (Tuesday)Hubby needed to take care of some stuff in town so I planned on dropping him off on my way to work. It was pretty foggy and I mentioned that I was glad I was going to be another hour before leaving the house. And, right on our way there was an accident involving a State Trooper.

And what is it with people driving without the lights on??? Crazy!
