i had quite a busy day today. i started out by emptying my compost bins into the garden. i have 27 rows, 19 of which got a top dressing of compost. 5 of the 8 remaining had gotten ash and chicken manure earlier, while three got a dressing of just ash. i got all of it turned under and wanted to dig holes for my trellis posts, but i seem to have misplaced my post-hole diggers!

this year's garden is twice the size of my previous garden. i am going to lay 4-6 inches of leaf litter mulch in between rows because i HATE weeding.

and to top it off, i found three volunteer scarlet runner beans that i salvaged and put in containers in the greenhouse. Whew! Pictures will be posted soon, after i resize them. It is officially beer thirty!

Please tell your mother that she is cute, peaking out from those huge azaleas.

Congrats on all that work. I am impressed.
