Big disappointment

    Usually my Sugar Maple has such pretty orange and red leaves in it this time of year. This year it barely turned yellow and then went to brown. Also it had millions of seed helicopters on it and they did not come down. They are still on the tree. I don't know if the 2 are connected or not!

    That sounds quite unusual to me. We have maples here too, and so I am quite aware of the correct order in which these two things ought occur. I don't know what to think about this development.

    If you do any investigative google work, please let me know what you discover.

    Some of our maples had the seed helicopters still on them until this week...we had a cold hard frost the other night and wind and they came down. The ones that held the seeds were the maples that don't turn orange. Sorry you missed out on the color...we have three that were beautiful but now the leaves are falling...
