Well, we'll now I have seen everything so to speak. At 5pm today we had a pair of Sandhill cranes fly over to our place heading to the river area behind our property. They must know something about our upcoming weather than we have been told. Or they are going to be really, really, hungry with all the snow we now have and may get more.

That is pretty exciting. We love it when the cranes come to visit. They must know something and hope to have eats and comfort to visit there.

Sounds like winter has been cancelled:):) I will get the snow shovel and uncover the ground:):)
Seed planting begins....Oh wait?? Did the recent Northern lights mess up the Cranes GPS? Maybe I should hold off on the planting...Maybe...

Yup Jerry. I think the northern lights did mess up their gps signals. We have had 2 snowfalls since they arrived, and more snow is coming this weekend. Hopefully they can find enough left over corn or soybeans in some of the surrounding fields.

Oh, dear me! And here I was, worrying about the starlings that trekked north too early. I've put out catfood, oat flakes, and split pears for them. We've got so much snow there's no way they'll find much to eat on their own. Wishing your cranes the best of luck.
