Here in Ohio, it has been a dry fall. No rain of any amount in 3 months. I have a bird bath/drinking bowl not too far from the feeder. I took a lorge bowl, the kind you put under a large potted plant. I keep it filled for the larger birds, robin, bluejays and doves. And I have a small one hanging in a tree for the small birds such as chickadees and and finches.

Been really dry here to :) I have been seeing more birds at the bird bath and the pond lately. I hardly ever see a downy woodpecker at the bird bath but been seeing them a lot lately.

Well there's no lack of water here in Scotland!! The birds enjoy drinking and bathing in our pond so I don't have to put out any other water source for them.
A good tip though CK for those that don't have the amount of rain that we get here.
