Birdie my cat....will be 2 in May. She has had something going on since I got her in her left ear.

So I took her into the vet and he couldn't see a problem and I asked for something else to use when it flares up again. I also mentioned it kind of sounded like she snored at times when her eyes were wide open..at first I really thought she was snoring....He gave me a funny look and I held her tight and he looked way down in the ear as far as he could get....he found a polyp...It is called a nasopharyngeal polyp and I have to see a special animal surgeon to see what he thinks.

Depending on where the polyp is and how large will be the key to what can be done. If they take it out the easy way and don't get all of the stem, it grows back right away.

So next week on Feb. 4 in the afternoon we have the appointment with the doctor. I am hoping it is still small so it will be easier to take care of but if it was growing before I got her last July then we might have a problem.

She seems fine other ways....just this little noise she makes and her ears get messy with black stuff...so please wish her good luck and I will post next week when we find out what is going to happen. I just hope it is something we can take care of and not too high in price...

She is a cutie, healing thoughts coming her way and hope she is feeling better soon.....and your budget doesn't get stretched too far by the Vet.

I hope the polyp is small and can be removed completely without damaging your bank balance too much. Birdie is so adorable and I'm keeping everything crossed that an op will cure her problem for good.

What a sweet face she has. Hope they are able to remove it. Our 9 year old golden retriever had surgery today to remove a growth under her eyelid. We are waiting for the pathology report to see if they got it all.

Oh what a sweet little kitty, best wishes for a successful surgery and complete recovery.
She is lucky to have such a caring human.

Thank you for all the good wishes....she goes in this Thursday to see the specialist and to find out our options. I just hope it can be done with out too much damage. I read the sheet from the doctor (vet)again and it said it is going through the ear drum. If it is too intricate a surgery because it is so far in, I think I will just have to let her live her life until it isn't enjoyable for her anymore. I really think it is into the throat area too because of the little noise she makes at time..I hope they have a test that shows what we are up against. I will let you know on Friday when i come on.

gfreiherr...How is your dog? Sorry to hear she needed surgery.
