I know the birds that come to your hands do so for the food you tempt them with. However they also have to put their complete trust in you not to harm them. With so many different species coming so close it says a lot for the bond you have with them all.

A nuthatch came for a HAND out today. That is 5 birds that feed out of my hand. Not counting the hermit thrush that has arrived here yet.

I wouldn't have thought that a Nuthatch would come to the hand - I'm really impressed. Over here ours are very shy and dart off as soon as they see any kind of movement.

There was a gentleman that has been playing with the birds in Niagara Falls forever. I have spent the whole day with him in the past. He had my hold my arms out like a scare crow and placed seeds all over my head and arms and folds in my clothing. I was covered with all the woodland birds. It was so wonderful. He was better than the falls.....LOL The public loved watching him out in the small wooded area near the falls.

He is probably gone now but the birds loved him and anyone who stood near him. It was a great day.....for a bird lover. He was not a photographer like you but he was a birder for sure....
