Birds are leaving!

    The big red headed woodpeckers are gone, the male hummer hasn't been seen for 2 days, but the female is still around. Still have the big flocks of Grackles coming through. 2 to 3 flocks a day. Tues. we had a flock of them that must have been 4 or 5 hundred in it. They land in the trees to rest their wings for 15 or 20 minutes and then they all take off again. Haven't seen a robin for almost a week. So summer is drawing to a close!

    I'll keep an eye open for your robins and hummingbirds, Captain. We have grackles all the time it seems (actually just a spring and a fall infestation, but they are so loud it seems longer!).
    I hope we get some of your woodpeckers, too. We have a few, but more would be welcome.

    Most of ours go to Georgia and Florida.
