I seen this interesting spotted bird...a starling on my tray feeder. I was surprised to see this Red-winged Blackbird at my feeders. Usually they are here in the spring and stay a month and you never see them until spring again..But this year a group of them stayed for a while. The Mourning Doves are always here... The Blue Jays are feasting on my peanuts .. and the Gold finch enjoy the thistle seed...
We have starings in our towns and gardens year round here in the UK Sherry so we tend to take them for granted. Are they quite rare in your area?
. eileen...I have them when the cool weather starts...I will keep track if they stay the whole winter. They go somewhere in the summer months...they haven't been at my feeders. I was just intrigued with their markings....Sherry
You've certainly got a lot of different birds in your garden, Sherry. The starlings are here for summer and leave in autumn. It's a certain sign of spring when we begin to see the flocks of starlings returning.
Where I live we have huge flocks of starlings fly over the house every day to go and roust in the piers they used to come in my garden ut havent had them down since the cats came in our garden I love starlings I will have to see if they dissapear over winter.
