These are half of the roses that I received from dr for my birthday. I'm glad he didn't try to buy one for every year. But, there were two of these dark wine or maroon flowers in with the roses. I am not familiar with them. The stem is the same color as the flower and there is a large bright green stamen inside. Those roses are beautiful Dooley and a lovely shade of red. I'm familiar with the other red 'flower' as we have them over here too but I have no idea what they are.
