My poor Mom gave birth to twins on August 17th. We always asked for a brother, but now I understand why she wasn't too keen on re-living the pregnancy experience.
You're one of twins? Are you identical? Do tell us if there is telepathic communication between you. Do you find yourself wearing the same colours as each other? I'm fascinated by twins (not that you'd ever have guessed ) and would love to find out more about you and your sister.
You're great, Eileen! We're fraternal, pretty much yin-and-yang at a glance. Funny thing is, even though Mom was adamant about treating us as separate entities, we do the whole "twin thing". Finish each other's sentences, buy the same thing in a different color unknowingly, get sick with the same thing 50 miles apart, etc. Our favorite phrase/explanation/way to guilt the other into doing something is "We shared a womb for nine months!!" That should serve as some explanation for what our significant others dubbed "that freaky thing you guys always do when you're talking".
ROFL!!! I've often heard of womb-mates buying the same clothes & such, but never guilt-tripping like that! My family is FULL of August birthdays, guess I should go check if I ever put mine on the calandar..
I knew I guy once who didn't know he had a twin until he was in his late 30's. His mother had them both adopted at birth as she was a single mum. They were seperated and adopted into different families. When Bill's brother traced his mum he also found he had a brother. They'd bought the same type of house, had exactly the same car, wore the same colours and styles of clothes to their first meeting. Had the same breed of dog - both called Sal. Theor wives were both called Claire and their sons were called Robin and Robert (shortened in each case to Rob.) Amazing or what?!!!!
I can not imagine 2 Kevins or 2 Heathers they were a handful by themselves.I'm sure they would have loved it.
I think I'll just have to write a blog about twins, because I started a reply and it was going on a page already!
