I found these black fuzzy caterpillars falling out of an oak tree in my front yard. The pictures may not be so good. They are about an inch long. Where the "fuzzies" come out of their back, it looks to be redish or orangish "bumps".
Any information on these would be helpful.
Would anyone happen to know what kind they are?
and if they will turn into a butterfly? if so, what kind?

    Thank you in advance.

Without a picture, it sounds like it could be the woolly bear. And they turn into moths. Does it have black and orange "fur"?

the "fur" is black, but it does however have orangish "bumbs" that the "fur" comes out of all along their back
