I planted 10 blaze climbing roses along the fence between us and the owner's place last spring when we moved down here. They didn't do much over the summer but they started growing when it got cooler. I took a picture of the first one to bloom and then the bushes in full bloom. ( photo / image / picture from dooley's Garden ) On Sunday, I took my clippers and basket and went and deadheaded the bushes. Now, I need to feed them. dr says they will bloom again in the fall. dooley Blaze rose ( photo / image / picture from dooley's Garden ) Blaze roses, north east corner ( photo / image / picture from dooley's Garden )
I can see why they're called 'Blaze' Dooley as certainly create a blaze of gorgeous colour in your garden.
They are gorgeous too. My one grandmother had nothing but roses in her garden, but she died when Daddy was little, so I never got to see her garden except in one old photo. It is my favorite picture of her.
Hi Dooley, lovely display,..i am expecting great things from "Blaze Rose" as it progresses and reaches its full potential,..it grows very tall!,..its true this rose will bloom again late Summer/Early Fall,..a good choice you made,..and a fantastic rose.
Lovely, and such a good selection of a climbing rose. Blaze is beautiful and you obviously have a great spot for them. Bet your neighbor is happy, too!
@dooley what a gorgeous show and they're developing quite thick but what a nice show to have when weather is in it's cooling period
