We have had 4 or 5 breif down pours today. Most have only lasted 5 to 10 minutes in length. But any rain we get is apprciated. We are down 6 inches of rain since June 1st. It's too late for any crops but will still help some things. I yanked up my maters today as they were just dried up. The trees are shedding leaves already, looking more like Oct. than Sept 1st. Very little color to the leaves. The walnuts have all turned yellow and are almost all on the ground.
I see from the weather map that Isaac has given rain to some of the midwest. I sure hope you get more, and that it is beneficial, and not a destructive downpour.
Wannabe is close to Springfield, Illinois and she said they've had five and a half inches and it's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow. They've had some tornado warnings, too. She said the ground was so dry that you almost can't tell it rained. dooley
Yeah for your area!!!!! So glad to hear you got some finally. We keep watering and watering and watering the garden and high tunnels. I am thankful we can do that much but it isn't the same as rain. Then we went away last evening and it poured there and here. Maybe we got what you had.
We had several breif downpours that woke me up during the night. Then about 4 am it started raining a nice easy shower and kept raining for 1 1/2 hrs. Total we got 1 1/2 inches of rain and it all soaked into the ground. Supposed to get more today Mon. and Tues.
