I've got purple iris everywhere, it seems!

Here's a nice yellow iris - it was grown originally by my wife's maternal grandmother. We took some rhyzomes when my mother-in-law died & it has multiplied many times over & I have several spots of it now. This is the first bloom of the season.

My lilac bushes have budded & started to bloom too!

Here's a nice mess of pansies.

My dianthus is taking off too!

Anticipation - the peonies are about to burst forth!! I have not had good luck with peonies - the thrips always get them & I didn't know what was happening. This year, I sprayed them with a systemic insecticide, so I'm hoping for some nice blooms this time.

While digging in the garden, I came across this tiny little snail. I called my daughter over, who was fascinated by it. She now has it in her bug-looker and named it "Shelly" and claims, it's her new pet. Now, even I have to admit, this tiny little thing does appear cute to me. I've been bumping its relatives off, though.

Those iris are lovely. Our lilacs are just thinking about starting to bud, and the peonies are red shots out there. Congratulations on your daughter's new pet. Shelly looks like a sweet, little snail.

Love your pics! Purple is my favorite color, and I too have a lot of purple irises in my garden (mostly Siberian). Ahhhh, the lilacs...it will be a month and a half before they're blooming here, they're one of my favorites!

Love the purple Iris especially but all the plants are very pretty. The little 'flower' holding the snail is a beauty also! ;)

    snails

No thanks on the snails. I have plenty. trouble is, I cannot squash them when my daughter is around. She objected last year, when I sprinkled snail bait out to kill them.

What a lovely flower variety, WTD. I could just look and look and look.
It;s great to see such colour whilst there is so much gray here in my garden.

    *Salivates* :p Wonderful lilacs.
The nice thing about buggies for pets is you'll probably never have to clean up after it. Probably why my parents let me do the same at her age! However, by 7 I was already a seasoned eulogist. Lol
