I've had some of these photos sitting on my desktop ready to post... but then I seem to get soooo busy! I can't remember which one's were taken first... so I'll start with the one's taken today and move backwards. I'll start with the Texas Rock Rose that Toni sent me. I think they look like little Hibiscus flowers. I love 'em! Texas Rock Rose ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) The here's some new-to-me ones that I started from seed. The Sweet Pea is climbing up the pole where I have a hummingbird feeder. Sweet Pea ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) And this is a Black-eyed Susan Vine. Not vining, but does have one cute little bloom peeking over the container. Black-Eyed Susan vine ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) Easter was weeks ago, but my Easter Lily must not have had a calendar, because it was very late blooming. I was hoping all six blooms would be opened at once, but as close as I got was this one. Easter Lily ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) And here's the Baby Sunrose. Prettiest little flowers, aren't they? Baby Sunrose ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) And two of my water lilies bloomed right around the same time. The Lemon Mist and Reflective Flame. I agree Tina - they're a real feast for the eyes aren't they? Thanks for sharing them with us Cheryl.
All are great Cheryl. So nice to see summer coming again. We are a little behind you, but you extend our season everytime you post what is ready in your yard. Thanks!
Thank you everyone for the kind words. I just love all the color around the house. Not long ago someone mentioned reading that gardens should focus just on one color. Hogwash! I want mine to look like someone took the biggest box of crayons they could find and just tossed them all over! Here's another couple of photos. I was trying to get a picture of a butterfly that was hanging about the Calibachoa, but he just wasn't ready for his portrait, I guess. So here they are all by themselves. Calibachoas ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) And yesterday, for the first time I believe... I had THREE waterlilies blooming at the same time. Which reminds me... they are due for another food tab. 3 waterlilies ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden )
I don't understand...You all keep your hanging pots in the sunny areas. Today we just moved our hangers to the shady areas because they dry out to fast in the mid summer sun. We can't keep them wet enough and they get crispy crittered. How can all of you get away with that? I use a good potting soil. BTW, Your flowers are so beautiful. Barb in Pa.
Everything looks great! I'd love to have a calibrochia basket but they don't seem to do too well for me :-?
Thank you Gail, Theo, Barb, Deanna and Michael. Barb... the hanging pot is okay for now. Once summer and the 100+ temps get here, it'll have to be moved to a shadier spot. I have one of those cheapy plastic trays under the Calibachoa to help retain moisture. Also, I found some plastic trays at one of the dollar stores a couple of years ago just like the cheapy ones....but made specifically for hanging pots (that one way in the background has one). They snap right on them. Probably won't last very long... but well worth the $1. hanging tray ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden )
Well, I never thought of that. Our hooks have to stay where they are for it's too hard to be moving because of the rocks. You give me some good ideas though, as usual. Barb in Pa.
Barb... holders won't be moved. They are screwed to the fence. But the pots can be relocated to the shade when the weather/temps reach "hell" on the thermometer.
