This guy has been trying to figure out how to land on the feeder and get some of those juicy sunflower seeds. Hey finally figured it out! We have a real fine snow coming down, almost like a mist.

They are clever creatures and persistent.

We haven't had as many Blue Jay's here the last year as in the past. We also have kids with BB guns in the neighborhood, so I am afraid that might have something to do with it :-x

Toni, if you have stray cats in the neighbo hood, that will also keep them away. We used to be able to tell where our cat was, by the screaming of the Jays.

Yeah, we have stray cats too. We also have a humane trap, we are going to try to catch them, take them to animal control and get them out of my yard.

Nice shot Capt. I've noticed a lot more Blue Jays than normal this year. I'm wondering if mine are the only feeders left around here...

I don't have any stray cats, but no matter how often I tell the neighbors to keep their cat in their own yard, they treat everyone else on the street's yard like a pet park for it. It hasn't scared away the birds, but probably only because I chase it away when I see it on my property.

I have pinged the stray cats so many times with the BB gun, all I have to do is cock it, and they take off. They have learned that when they hear that sound, their butts hurt!

If I had a stray, it would probably be easier because I could actually do something besides complain to the owner, but it does belong to someone and they have proved completely unresponsive.
