I've seen these in some of our garden centres but haven't been tempted to buy any. I have so many house plants that it could prove a tad expensive to pop one in each pot. However, I know some people who do use them and their reactions to them varies. Some say that they're only useful if you have to go away for a few days and there's no-one to water your plants. Others swear by them and say they're not only attractive to look at but seem to keep just the right amount of water going into the soil for their plants.

I have not used them. I don't keep plants inside. I like the outside plants and would probably only use it for decoration. I think I would forget to fill them.

For someone with a few plants and is unable to water them for awhile the globes may make sense. For someone with a lot of plants, they probably have a different watering scheme, globes just don't fit.

i have them and use them for when I go away on vacation. They're not bad, but I always make sure I give my houseplants a good drink before I leave and after I get home as well.

I've seen them in stores... but haven't even thought about buying one. If I'm going to be away from home... I've got lots more to worry about watering than the few house plants. (there's also the dog and fish). So who ever would have to come over to tend to them, could also water the indoor plants. But I could see how they'd be useful for certain folks.

I have and use these in plants that dry out very fast. the hanging basket with bougainvillea has to watered twice a day when the temps go in the 90's these give the plant some extra water so I don't have to do it twice a day, I could repot but the plant likes to be root bound and blooms better. I found an spike that will hold a soda bottle it works but is not as pretty. I will sometime put weak fertilizer in it.
