    Blueberry Watermelon

    from Baker Creek...

Just in time for America's main melon season: This year the massive melon farms in Maine and North Dakota are in for a real treat. The staff at Baker Creek Seed Co. call it "a miracle of modern science" and say "this must be the reason for biotechnology" At last a blue-gened melon that tastes just like the fabulous "Blue Raspberry" flavoring that children crave and need. It appears resistant to most herbicides and thrives on Roundup.
    Happy April First!

Is this an April fool by any chance? I've never heard of anyone raising melons like this before.

Why is it that the really neat stuff published today is an April fool? :( I quite like the pink melon, but a blue one would be something of a novelty.
