Hubby ran in the door just long enough to take this picture. We are lucky enough to have two pairs of blubirds nesting here this Spring. This 5th egg was just laid this morning and now she will start to set. This is in a bluebird house. We used the opportunity to get rid of field ants that were also in the box. They will kill young nestlings.

I never realised that a bluebird's eggs were actually blue. Was I supposed to know that? You learn something new everyday :)

    Awww, how exciting!!:D

I wish the bluebirds would start to nest here a couple of weeks sooner.
The chickadees move into the bluebird houses first every year,
I don't have the heart to evict them,
first come, first served, I suppose.
