Well, it was a fast and furious time there in the lottie. The parents were constantly flying back and forth feeding their chicks.
I took some fotos of their last day in the bird house.

The sentinal calling out for food.

Them mum comes and it drops back down into the nestbox...

They fledged early the next morinig. I'm going to miss those guys. I wonder how many survived the Jackdaws, Magpies and Stoats.

Lovely photos, Sjoerd! They're such sweet little birds. I do like them. Maybe they'll hang around and help you get rid of some more pests. That caterpillar looked yummy. Or would, if I were a bird. :D

Glad you liked the fotos, Droopy.
I like those little birdies too. I heard the babies over across the railroad tracks in the dense undergrowth. I guess they are safe there ans will hopefully return here in a few weeks to feed once they are strong and can fly properly.

BTW, How would you like your caterpiller?--dipped in Tempura batter and fried in boiling oil? In a gravy? Or al dente? :-D

ACMP--Thanks very much. I am glad that you liked them.
BTW have you been watching the birds on "beleef de lente" on your compi?

    http://www.beleefdelente.nl/

They have short films of when the koolmezen fledged. Nice to watch.

I am delighted that yopu like the website. I keep it on even whilst reading or watching the telly so I can keep my eye on things there.
Ach...your dutch doesn't have to be good to understand the language of Nature, does it--it speaks for itself. ;)

p.s. Don't forget to check on the little short videos over to the right of the cam window.

What sweet pictures!!! I hope the babies are fine, too and come back to visit you soon.
And, I love that website! I just watched the cams until now I am late for work... oh dear...
Did you see the vido, "Ilegale babysit" I think it was called, where the dove goes into the owl's box and sits on the eggs? Wow, that was close at the end, huh?

hahaha...yes, I saw that. I wonder what that owel would have done with such a big dove. Those owls had lots of trouble in the beginning, also with Jackdaws.
I'm glad that you liked that site as well.
Those owls can be so ferocious...but when it was time to do the banding, the mother and chicks were so docile.
    I never tire of nature.

Absolutely delightful photographs Sjoerd. I really hope all the babies make it out in the big, wide world now they've fledged.

I am glad that you liked those fotos. I really like these tiny birds, they are colourful and not extremely frightened of me.
