As Sjoerd named it. :D A sort of semi-destructive bug you don't want too many of in your garden. It munches on everything edible and pokes it's nose into all blooms, scaring bees and butterflies alike.

Here it's photographed in a very happy moment, with courgettes in it's arms and pollen on it's nose:

You can tell it's happy because it's actually quiet and curled up. :D

Well I could put up with that one but I certainly wouldn't want a bunch of them lying around 'cause I'd trip over them!!!! :D :D

The best way to deal with this particular bug is to feed it small tidbits from whatever edible's growing and closely monitor it's movements until it's ready to leave your garden. :D If it's happy it might even remove a few weeds on it's exploraton rounds. It rarely lies down in a garden, since it prefers a darker, softer and drier sleeping environment.

Looks like a friendly sort of bug, I do expect you would have to double check under the bugs outer shell to make sure a few weeds is all it picked up along the way tho.

I suspect you're right there, toni. The bug's habit of wandering off with edibles and goodies is a well known fact to those who've experienced it. :D

Love it, Droopy. Must say it looks comfy right where it lies. I wouldn't feed it anymore though - looks pretty big now.

The title caught my eye as I like insects and the bumble bee name was effective.

I should mention that I think I had one of them in the garden, I made it comfortable with a chair and it just stayed there and didn't cause any more damage. I left it there to scare away any others.
