Growing in the crack between a concrete block and the floor where dirt is difficult to sweep away and seeds can get caught... ( photo / image / picture from TheBip's Garden )
The will to survive no matter what the circumstance is amazing in the human world and the plant world.
I am often struck by the fact that plants who plant themselves are way more willing than those I plant, even though they grow under the strangest conditions.
I love to see plants and flowers popping up in strange places. I have a few that have appeared in the garden that I presume the wind or the birds 'planted' for me.
Let it grow let it grow. Isn't that funny, cause lately I have a terrible turn out with germinating marigolds. Why?? b
Yea, those Marigolds can sure be tough! I love to see flowers that grow in unlikely spots. This year, I have an abundance of moss rose growing in the flagstone path! Moss Rose ( photo / image / picture from Kay's Garden )
B- I've always planted my Moss Rose in containers, and it's seeds always seem to find their way to grow somewhere else! One year, a long. long time ago, I planted Marigolds all around my vegetable garden (supposedly to keep bunnies away!) the next spring, I had the garden roto tilled and oh my, the Marigolds sprang up in the entire plot! Gad zooks! I had enough to share with every gardener I knew! It was funny!
I hope the garden center folk (oh yeah! I didnt mention this is at Home Depot) let it be, although seeing how some of em like plants as much as I do (some are just there for the paycheck!) I think it'll be there awhile
I love it when things grown in spots that they are not planted. I used to have petunias come up under the planters at the last house. :-D
