I have a bird feeder that is in need of a paint job.
I'm thinking it would be cute in pastel colors like blue yellow pink. Would all that color scare off the birds?

Nope! Birds who fly in daytime have highly developed color vision. They like color and are attracted by it (hummingbirds to red, for example). Some studies have shown that birds' perception of color is better than humans'.
Go ahead and paint your feeder as you like--the birds will find it and appreciate it!
