I fell (blacked out) in the house last Monday and broke my ankle! Go to the ortho Wed. for a cast. In the meantime I have a brace on, but can't get outside to see my beautiful daylilies. Here I waited a year to see them bloom and see their color...now I can only see them through my kitchen window. Hopefully Wed. when I have to get out they will still be blooming!
Did you find out why you blacked out? Hope the ankle heals properly. At least the lilies are in a spot where you can see them from the house.
Probably low blood pressure (100/63), but had a virus 2 weeks ago and electrolytes may still be out of whack. I can see the lilies but it seems that most of them have their 'back' to me!!
I really hope your ankle heals quickly for you and that you're not in too much pain. What a pity this had to happen to you just as your daylilies opened up. Take care of yourself and let us know how you're doing won't you?
I hope you get to feeling better soon, maybe someone can go and take some pictures for you or maybe cut some blooms to bring inside so you can enjoy them!
Oh my goodness, KG. That is a bit unsettling--not so much your broken ankle...as the reason that you blacked out. When will you have that looked after? At any rate, it is good hearing from you and I do hope that you can see your daylilies tomorrow. Shucke, if you're out there anyway, why not take a quick pic. Get well soon.
I always have low blood pressure. But I am so used to it, it dosn't bother me any. I normally run between 90 and 100 over 60. Part of that is caused by medication I am on. I don't have high BP, but I am on a high BP medicene to help strengthen my heart.
Thanks to all of you for your well wishes. Eileen ~ it is ashame that I am missing the blooms and their beautiful colors. I too hope it heals fast. Delly ~ having someone cut some and bring them in is a wonderful idea. I will have my dear DIL do that! Sjoerd ~ Doctor has cut one of my BP meds in half and I seem to be doing much better. Capt ~ My BP has always run high thus the reason for my renal failure...and the doctor has worked for 2 1/2 years to get it down. Now it seems too low! Netty ~ I hope I get a walking cast so I can get around soon. I have watched about all the movies I can stand!!
I am glad to hear that, KG. Does this mean that you sort of blacked-out after standing from a lying or sitting position then?...Did he use the term "orthostatic hypotension"? Well, all that doesn't make any difference actually--the main thing is that your doc is taking good care of you and you feel better. I am quite glad to hear of your improvement.
Oh shoot... Gaylyn, I'm so sorry this happened... I'm glad you're feeling better as far as the BP is concerned but daggone, that ankle is an inconvenience. Feel better...
You poor thing! :'( At least when I broke my wrist it was winter so I didn't miss out on flowers I hope you feel better, I know what an inconvenience it can be :-x You don't realize how much you use something till it's broke! Heal fast!
Sjoerd ~ doc didn't mention that term...but yes I had been sitting and it was about an hour after I took my BP meds. MaryAnne ~ Shoot is right! Of all things for me to do! Guess I am considered offically old now! Deanna ~ Thank you...you never miss something til it's gone...as the saying goes! Winter would have been a better time, if it had to happen!
