The cedar tree in the back yard didn't "weather" the 14 in. snow too well. The snow was so heavy it broke two of it's limbs. This is the highest drift I have. It's right at 4 ft.
I was a bit worried when I saw the title of your post CK. For one horrible moment I thought it was YOU that had broken limbs. Thankfully it was only your cedar tree - phew - what a relief. We've just had more snow but it will never drift as high as yours thank goodness or cause as much damage.
Oh dear, that did do some damage to your cedar.... Yesterday while taking a walk around the neighborhood, I saw several big trees that had broken in half... I didn't take a pic because there is a big tree in my neighbors yard hanging over my garage. The trunk is cracked... I could hardly look at the broken trees I saw on my walk, let alone take a picture... afraid it was a bad omen... but so far so good. That neighbor REALLY needs to take care of that tree... but I am now very far off topic. I like that little bird sitting upon your snow drift CK. Bet you are staying close to your wood stove today, huh?
Yep, hand feeding it! The bird is a Junco and they are all over the yrd. Especially under the 2 feeders.
We used to have a huge cedar tree in our woods and it seemed that every big storm we had , it lost some limbs. So glad the limbs were on the tree and not you...
I'm glad it was only tree limbs too. With all the snow and shoveling and icy steps it had me wondering for a minute. Every winter there are people breaking things trying to clear snow. Take care when you are outside, please. dooley
