Like many people, we bought a puppy during lockdown after wanting a dog for such a long time. The time was right, hubby now had a job working from home, so we bought a Cavapoo, who we adore. When he was young he used to potty on the patio, which was easy to hose down afterwards, now he uses the lawn and unfortunately we have brown patches as a result. Does anybody have any advice on how we get him to potty in a different location (not on the lawn), how we deal with the brown patches and what products you have tried that really do work - dog rocks, Lawn Rescue, Pee Fix, Get Off Gel Crystals and Green Peez, to name just a few.
Kazza, in time those burnt patches may well turn green and be greener and thicker areas than the surrounding grass. All is not lost. Like DM said water may well help the transition happen sooner. That may not be wished for, but at least they will be green.
You do not need to rake the places. It’s a waiting game. No one does any raking or any other sort of yard work other than regular mowing. I can speak with confidence because I can look down on the lawn in front of our apartment building and see the little green circles (when the draught is not going on…now it’s all brown). I see them in other areas where people keep or have dogs that they walk.
