We built an arbor right at the entrance to the garden and planted heavy vines on it. We put our glider under it so that even on the hottest days we can sit in the shade and Nature Watch. A pair of brown thrashers came and made a nest in it just feet from where we sit. We hoped we could all be good neighbors. She looks a Little apprehensive.

Going good now and the babies are getting big.

First baby out and the dog finds it. I tell him to "leave it" and all is well.

They made great neighbors. Hope they come back! :-D

Wonderful pictures Bethie, thanks for sharing your thrasher family with us. I wish my cats were as well mannered as your dog when it comes to birds.

I've never heard of a thrasher bird before Bethie so it was wonderful to see yours!! I hope the youngesters survive and come back next year to breed in your garden.
