It got down to 6 deg. F. last night and they say 2 deg F for tonight. But it's already at 5 deg F. and it's 8 pm. Ithink it will get to 0 or below.

That's why I live where it's a bit warmer. It was 22 degs this morning and got up to 39 this afternoon. Tonight is forecast for 32 segs but if it only got to 39 today I think it will go down to 20's again. I know it's not what you would call cold, but to me it's cold. I don't do cold very well. I like hot. dooley

We're still having below zero temperatures here in Scotland. No more snow though - at least not yet.

Whew, I do remember temps like that when I lived up north. Vowed to move to warmer climate. Do miss some of the plants that can grow up there though, especially the fruit trees like cherry and apple.

It was -21°C when I got up today. Tomorrow's HIGH is -21°C. I think that is about -6°F. Tonight the temperature is going to drop to -27°C. The coldest I ever remember it being here is -36°C .
    (about -32°F)
Have I mentioned lately that I'm ready for spring??

Back when I was in the Navy, I was stationed in Maine and teaching survival school. As an idiot, I volunteered to go through Canadian Forces Arctic Survival School. The first thing we had to do was build our own igloo, then we spent 10 days in it. The last day of the school, the temp. dropped to -80 deg F. with a wind chill of -120 deg. F.

It was a place called Crystal City, which I think the Army had made up for it. I think it was somewhere on Ellesmere Island. Very near Greenland.

Wow, that's something to speak of CK. Really. How warm was it inside the igloo?

I lived in Chicago for 5 years. A good day for me was a temp above zero. A GREAT day was when the temp had TWO numbers in it, like 10 F! That was like a heat wave. One winter it went down to -40 (F) with wind chill of -80.... that was pretty cold.

At -20 F. actual temp., with one candle burning, the igloo would stay at about 30 deg. F. When they said that we were leaving the igloos and to trample them up, We had a gas primus stove that we used and we wanted to see how warm we could get it. We got it up to 60 deg. F. But the igloo had melted and then refroze and we could see through the walls. They were about 1/2 inch thick.

Brrr! Indeed! That is cold Capt.!!
It's not that cold here, but it's all of 6°F today. We had MORE snow last night along with a biting wind. The snow is piling up...Grrr
One good thing is that the sky is crystal clear now and the sun helps the spirit, even though our noses were runnin and frozen while we cleared the driveway again
