The weather really changed in Vermont on Sunday night. The wind picked up in the afternoon and the temp plunged. It feels as if it is 4 below zero and the winds are fierce this morning. We got about 2 inches of snow which is light and fluffy and is blowing around all over the place.

It was very hard sleeping last night with the winds howling all night long.....but this won't last very long it will be in the upper 40's by Wednesday.

    Everyone stay warm! :stew1:

Hello there G'mamma! How nicew to see you. I thought that yopu might have curled-up and gone into hibernation in one of those busses. ;)
Hope that everyone there is is doing well.

I guess that you were pretty chuffed with your tomato harvest this year, eh? You had lots and lots. Did you get it all canned?
BTW...what did you do with the soil that was in the tires?

Well, that weather you've had there sounds like it's getting ready for Santa. We get a tiny bit of snow here from time to time, but it melts rather quickly.
The christmas time is getting into full swing here now. The cards are starting to come in and there is a sort of 'frenzy' in our little town centrum as the shoppers begin that ordeal. More and more homes have x-mas decorations now.
We have hung up a couple of wreaths now too. More to come later.

You should send some pics of all that snow up there.

Burrrrrrr...that wind sounds cold. When will the school holidays begin? It sounds dangerous if you have to drive on slick roads.

Stay warm yourself, GM and hope to see you again soon on here.

It is cold here in Wisconsin...no doubt about it Winter Is Here....
I think we have about 10 inches on the ground and another storm on the way. At least we have ground cover so the plants are protected...stay warm, 40 sounds pretty good to me right now..

Their forcasting another 12 inches for over nite. I like snow 'a little' but it just came much too early this year. So everyone gather round I'm sharing and handing that snow out, now don't be shy, there's plenty for everyone. :)

I'd love a steady winter, weather-wise, with a nice snow fall and below freezing temps. It would make a nice change. I'm not partial to changing our snow several times per week. :D

We've had the same sort of weather here Gardenmama. Yesterday we had gale force winds and snow. Today it is snowing and very cold (17°C when I got up this morning). Tomorrow they say rain and a high of 8°C. It's just too early for all this winter weather!!

Hello. ...I would love to hibernate the winter away. this winter is supposed to be very very cold and not very snowy. I would prefer the nice insualting that a good snowy winter provides.

I made tons of relish, salsa and tomato concentrate with my tomatoes. To get the tires ready for winter I added compost and lime. In the spring I will test the soil and add what ever I need to make it healthy again. I will be adding more tires in the spring as well. Going to get rid of all the weeds.

We are getting ready for Christmas. My son is so excited. We also have my husbands parents from England here for the next 3 months. Their holiday park is closed for the winter so they winter here.

I hope you have a fabulous holiday season.

Thanks loads, G'mamma...I wish the same to you and yours.
How does your man's parents like it there? What part of GB do they hail from?
While they are visiting will you guys take them around the whole of the area known as "New England"? I'll bet they would like that, I know that I sure did.

Take care and have a good one.

We have snow predicted for tonight and tomorrow, then colder temps for Saturday and Sunday. It's been hovering around 0C for weeks now but is going to dip below on the weekend. Although I hate the cold, I will welcome the sunshine that comes with it. It has been overcast and foggy for weeks.

Mike parents are from the northwest, currently they have a home in Southport on the coast. Michael grew up in Rainford in Merseyside. Quite close to Liverpool. They like it here. This is about the 7th time they have visited since we got married 6 years ago. They were here for 3 months last winter as well...last year they did A LOT of shoveling. We got over 12 feet of snow last winter. We have traveled through part of New England with them but will so more once they are here full time. I don't like to do a lot of traveling in the winter. I do enough driving during the week to be driving around all weekend as well! I have taken my husband all over New England and his first time here I took him to Plymouth Rock in Mass where the Pilgrims landed. He enjoyed that. Though some of the history we learn is different from what they learned in England.

Wow, that's interesting. Those in-laws of yours get a real "working holiday", don't they? hahaha
I can imagine that the histories are different. That sounds interesting to me.

Where the Pilgrims are concerned, Michael knew they went to Holland for religious freedom and that was as far as it went. Here in the US i never learned they had gone to Holland first and that they came here for religious freedom, just a new life.
