I am not used to weather this cold. This is Nashville folks, we don't DO single digit temps in Nashville! :(

But apparently Mother Nature didn't get the memo! Just look at these projected temps ... the temperature drops all day today and into the night!! Plus the wind chill factor is going to make the "feel like" temp drop to -2!

I know there are plenty of you who are used to weather like this...weather much worse than this in fact! But we are decidedly NOT!

I've been seeing some random chatter on facebook too, from parents of school aged kids, complaining about the fact that their kids' school has closed for the day, or is closing several hours early because of the freezing temps. While I think that's a bit of an over-reaction to these unusual temps, still it gives you an idea of how unused we Nashvillians are to this kind of weather! :(

Whatever you do don't touch the number on the screen, frostbite is possible. :)

Tonight the temperature here is suppose to be -6°F. -21°C for those with the other thermometer. For anybody with one of those really weird Lord Kelvin thermometers 252.03°K. Anyway you look at it it will be cccccccccccold.

The chipmunks will be throwing lots of acorn shells on the fire tonight!! Hmmmm....

Very used to these cold temps here. It is bone chillin out there! We had another light snow last evening, and I'm glad. It's good to have a blanket on the ground when the temps are so low.
Hope it warms up, and gets back to a more seasonal temp for you there Ronni. Stay warm.

Cold here too...haven't heard the exact temperature but it was suppose to get in the -40's with the wind chills. I let the dogs out and then I put some food out on my patio feeders. Ours is suppose to be this cold for a while. I am staying home unless something comes up... I laughed and told my husband we could use pop or water on our cereal if we run out and he gave me the craziest look...really we have plenty of milk and a lot of meat in the freezer and plenty of canned goods. I know our winters and I am prepared.

Schools are starting later and a few closed with this weather. Stay warm everyone...
