Was 43 this morning, with a north wind that made it feel like about 36 F. I have a big ol pot of chicken and noodles on for this evening. Can't call it soup as you have to eat it with a fork. But too juicy to be called a casserole either! Going to cut some firewood as soon as it starts to warm up a little!
mmmmmmmmmm!!!! what time is supper???? it was cold here in hamilton this morning...about 38 ...i don't like it but what can you do..it's gonna come whether we like it or not!!!!i might make some chicken soup here...see what you have done now!!!!!have a good day ....wendy
Seems to me, Cap'n, that you will get mighty warm cutting that firewood, so you could start right away.
No chicken of any kind here for two reasons....one being it is still too hot to think about soup and two Randy calls it white buzzard and won't touch it. First really cold night around here I will have to make some clam chowder tho.
That chicken and noodles hit the spot after an afternoon of cutting wood. Will cut some more tomorrow too. I should have all of my wood cut for the winter in 3 or 4 more days. Then all I have to do is split it and put it away. Glad I have a hydraulic splitter.
Well, we did chicken anyway... no noodles yet. The weather is still pretty mild here but we'll no doubt have our share of soup weather before the year is out. You can't beat a splitter! My folks used to rent one and we'd feed every last one of those logs into that thing before it went back. Wonderful invention.
Capt Kirk you are certainly well prepared. We are usually out the eve the weather changes to freezing trying to get our vents closed in a howling north wind. What is wrong with us? I guess old hippies never change their "laid back " tude. I think I need some soup now. 8)
Lamb stew on a chilly day with a Guinness later on sounds good to me. Home grown grass fed lamb not that imported NZ/OZ stuff. You're all invited! Jan, I'm sure we could rustle up some good grub for you so don't feel left out. muddy
I'm on my way. I love the stew sans lamb. Of course, I have to get these newly purchased plants in the ground before the day is over.
