Have anyone of you grown one of these unusual fruits? I've come to learn that the fruit has no seeds or internal flesh or juice. It' s just the outside zest with a bit of the pithy white inside. Aside from cuttings, how do you suppose this plant reproduces in the wild?
You managed to tingle my curiosity, and I've been reading about it now. It just said it's been grown around the Mediterranean, probably brought there by trade or soldiers returning home, so I guessed it might grow from the fruit despite there being no seed or pulp. Then I checked Wikipedia, and there it says cuttings taken from two- to four-year-old brances, often grafted on a suitable rootstock. Did they do that way back when I wonder?
