Hi folks I found this supposed formuala that you make into a spray to keep the bugs away. Does anyone know if their is any validity to it?

    Bug B Gone Spray

1 cup of Murphy's oil soap
    1 cup of antiseptic mouthwash
1 cup of chewing tobacco juice

IT says to take three fingers worth of the tobacco and put it into a stocking and put it into a gallon of boiling water.

Does this sound right? It doesnt say what bugs it will rid?

sounds like it will work. I have heard of the murphy's oil soap and water trick, or any kind of liquid dish soap watered down.

I have been told that most bugs, caterpillars etc can't stand the taste of the mixture and will stay away.

I am using a mixture of tabasco sauce and water this year. That is told to keep them from eating the leaves and the fruit.

Please ID the caterpillars before chasing them away from your plants and certainly before killing them. Most are eating to become either butterflies or moths and don't eat all that much.

If you have quite a few of them munching on a plant, then consider getting more of that plant in the ground so they will have plenty to eat and you can still enjoy the flowers.

Well knock on wood but the only bugs I have seen in my entire garden were aphids. No caterpillars or nothing like that.
