This morning my husband built a raised garden bed out of garden ties. We're going to plant raspberries in here. We've put till in and right now he's out picking up manure from a friend's farm and will stop to buy top soil. We plant to put more raised garden beds in the back yard and try to clean it up but this will probably be the only one we do this year due to upcoming surgery and recovery. That's my rhubarb patch in the raised bed beside it. I suspect at some point in the past that was a kid's sandbox! My rhubarb is starting to poke out of the ground.

I'm drooling. I have always wanted to do this and have never gotten around to it. It's wonderful! Good job!

Those raised beds are looking very nice. They have "Success" written all over them.

Those look perfect. :-D Bet they will grow your berries perfectly. My hubby and I have talked about doing something similar, but don't know if we will ever turn the talk into doing. :D

Thanks. Overall length is 20 feet. We have it set up and ready to plant the raspberries but were too tired and will finish the job tomorrow. My husband is a carpenter and there is a slight slope so he was out there with his level and his square and hoe and it took him quite a while to get the first ties in where he wanted. Then he got to play with his saw while he created a pattern. Originally he was going to use 2 x 10's because they're half the price of garden ties but won't last as long before rotting. He's going to be putting 2 x 8's to cap it off and to have a little sitting area for weeding or snacking. These things aren't cheap. All the materials including top soil came to close to $300. If someone had to pay a carpenter/handyman to build that would double the bill. We want to build 5 more around the backyard but its not in the budget for this year. I want to replace the fence first this year then look at tidying up the back yard next year.

Perfect just the thing for growing your raspberries in. Easy to weeed and the raised bed will also make it much simpler to pick your berries when they are ripe!! :-D I can see your rhubarb popping up through the earth. Mine is out there somewhere under all the snow. :(
