We had storms come through last night ahead of a cold front. We got 2 1/10 inches of rain in about an hour. This morning it was way to wet to mow grass, so we went to work cleaning out shrub beds. We tackled the one at the front porch first. Since the lilies were done blooming down they came and the tomato cages that were holding them up. Then all of the shrubs got trimmed back. This revealed some poison ivy growing so that got sprayed. Then we moved to the back bed and trimmed the shrubs there. We started at 9 am and finished up at noon.
Sounds like a good morning protect. When I am spending time out there I decide what needs it most and attack it first and then so other unimportant areas.... With my sister I have been getting the tomatoes tied up and that's about all.
We got the rain, too...but only 1/2 inch of a beautiful gentle rain. I was thankful for what we got and how gentle it was...every other rain for the last year or so was hard and fast and copious! Glad you didn't have any damage from it, though.
rained here in Michigan. I didn't get much outside work done here. After the rain it remained cold and chilly the rest of the day. Just one of those days to stay inside and get rested up.
