I have had so many butterflies this year, especially the swallowtails. One afternoon I had about 30+ butterflies fluttering around. So beautiful...

These are just supurb, Gail. Oh, what I wouldn't give to have all of those in this country! It is just delightful to see all of yours.
The contrast of colours of the flowers and the butterflies are quite attractive to my eyes.

---Long live the summer...and Gail's nimble finger!

Oh, my. Oh, my! I've only seen those butterflies in butterfly houses. *drools* Lovely shots, they're good enough to eat.

It's so good to see your lovely butterflies Gail. We've not had many visiting our gardens here in Scotland as the weather has been so atrocious.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I am happy to share my photos with you all. I guess the abundance of butterflies is our gift for enduring the oppressive heat we have this summer. Since butterflies are cold-blooded they depend on the sun to keep warm so they can flutter about. I am thankful for my "flying flowers".

I agree Sherry...between the heat and the mosquitoes, I don't spend much time outside, most of these photos were taken with a zoom lens from my kitchen window!
