    When releasing one of the Monarchs, it lingered on her nose a while.

    Oooh, I really like the butterfly in the second photo! And I love the photos of your daughter and her nose adornment. :D Wish I could give her nose a rub.

    It's good to see all your beautiful butterflies when all we have here flying around is leaves.

    What great fotos--deep rich colours that they butterflies have...and that foto of the butterfly on your child's nose is really a good one. hahahaha What a sight!

    Wonderful photos.Your daughter interacts really well with the butterflies.I really like the second picture too.

    I have no idea what kind of butterfly that second one is. I just noticed while taking pictures, that it is not a Monarch. At least, I don't think it is, unless there is a variation of Monarch I didn't know about.

    Beautiful pictures...it looks like you have a great butterfly garden, and what a wonderful way to get your daughter involved. Ours are all gone for the season now, so take care of them for us down there!

    That second butterfly looks like the Queen butterfly (Danaus gilippus). It's a thing of beauty, isn't it?

    Thanks, Sjoerd! I googled danaus gilippus & found a nice site w/ photos. I can now say with confidence that the third butterfly is the Variegated Fritillary, Euptoieta claudia
