    After getting all of my firewood cut,split and stacked inside the shed, i have most of the planting areas cleaned up and ready for bed for the winter. I still have a few plants that I havent touched yet. The Asters are still blooming so will wait until they are done to do thaose. I had a company come in and put leaf guards on the gutters on the house. I have mainly Honey Locust and Black locust and they have very little leaves. The leaf guards have a stainless steel mesh on them that will keep the leaves out and the rain to come through. Sure will save a lot of time cleaning out the gutters. We had a dishwasher installed last Sat. and boy is it ever nice. We load it up all day long and then my wife starts it when she comes to bed. I get up in the morning and while the coffee is brewing, I put them away. How easy is that? We still have a tubular skylight to put in the kitchen area, but am going to have the guys wait awhile to let the attic cool off before they install that. Then we will be done for this year.

    I've had a dishwasher for many, many years and it does a great job on the dishes. It's called Ian!!!! :D :D

    I must look out for those leaf guards for the gutters as it would save my 'dishwasher' having to clean them out every six months. ;)

    I've been busy so far this fall too. We installed a woodstove, cleaned out all the sheds, trimmed some trees, planted some new ones, made a new garden, drained the pool, put on the storm windows, cleaned out the garage and put up new siding. No fire wood stacked yet so you are ahead of me there Capt! Autumn sure is hectic!

    Glendann, we used a product called Crud Cutter for mildew. You can get it at WalMart and at Lowes. Dampen the sideing, spray it on, let it set for a couple of minutes then scrub it some and then rinse. We didn't have to scrub too hard, but ours wasn't too bad either.

    If you use bleach, it may lighten the sideing, depending on the color and the type of sideing it is.

    Glenda;
    I'm ringing in a little late on this one but wanted to tell you that if your siding is aluminum, definitely DO NOT USE BLEACH on it.. Bleach is quite corrosive to aluminum... Hank
