The sun came out today and the temperature was in the mid 40's.
I needed some fresh air and sunshine so I grabbed my camera and headed down the hill.

There is a farm behind us and the cows were in the back pasture

I pass these cows whenever I drive out of our neighborhood. The farmer has a donkey that protects the herd from the coyotes.

There are several small ponds on the property, today the canadian geese were taking a swim.

A mockingbird was enjoying some berries.

And a chipmunk was gathering nuts.

It felt good to be outside enjoying the sunshine and the nature around me, hurry Spring!

The clear sapphire blue sky really is an amazing sight - Which I hardly ever get to see now (thanks the city's pollution). Only afterwards when it rains, do I get to see it.

You have such lovely rural scenery around you. Sadly our village outskirts have become diminished with the amount of new houses being built. I'm glad you enjoyed your walk so much and took your camera with you as you got some superb shots. I like the way the light plays off the mockingird and the little chipmunk gathering nuts.

It was a treat to have a sunny day with mild temps. Glad you all enjoyed the photos. It has been a long, cold winter and days like this are good for the soul.

Thank you for sharing your stroll with us! I was surprised to see a calf in the herd--isn't it early for the heifers to be calving?
You live in a lovely area, and obviously you and your camera appreciate it!

It's certainly looking a lot like spring there Gail. We are still covered with snow.

    Re: Photos

I have just enjoyed the photo-walk down your slope. The cattle seem content to graze and munch.
The Canada geese may be headed back to Michigan and stopped for a while in your rest area.
The lovely bird instinctivily knows which berries are non-poisonous. Amazing isn''t it!
Chipmunks are such amusing and delightful creatures. You were blessed to have one stand still for the shoot. You must have a good lens.
We pass through the Knoxville area each time we visit South Carolina. Beautiful place.

Thanks Growing pains for your commentary.

Marlin Gardner...I'm not a farm girl so I don't know much about calves. Last time I passed by the herd there were 5 or 6 calves in various sizes so they must breed year round?
