My friend in Tucson, Arizona is getting married the first weekend of May. Her flower of choice is Calla. They are on her invites, cake, etc.
She bought some live ones the other day, but I didn't have the heart to tell her their blooms may be gone by then.
Do we have any one here from the Southwest US that knows about Callas?
Also, I was thinking of sending her some for a wedding gift, but I'd probably have to find them from a cooler climate, right? When do they bloom "up north"?

Are you thinking cut flowers, potted flowers or bulbs? I think your best bet would be to contact a florist in Tucson to see if they have or can get potted ones. Arizona has some pretty restrictive plant laws, many mail order nurseries can't ship plants there.

Lowe's has the bulbs or at did have when I bought some earlier this month.

She bought some potted ones that were already blooming.
Hmmm... I guess I could always try to send some cut ones, but live and blooming is what she's wanting.
