Hi all, I have two new plants form the shop one is called Callisia Repens and the other Callisia turtle. Google seems to think they are one and the smae plant but they do look a little different.

My questions is are they house plants or are they meant for the garden because google also says both :?: They are mentioned as invasive ground coverers and as decorative hanging basket plants.

I want them for outdoors but not sure if they'll survive outdoors in the Netherlands (Europe). I also read they are possibly poisonous for dags and cats??

Does anyone have any experience of these plants. they are very pretty and also evergreen ........ They were also a bargain price :-D
Lets me hear from anyone that has a bit of knowledge about these.

Hi Jodilee, My plant book says a minimum of 10 degrees cel. So I am thinking house plant for your area. It mentions, Texas to Argentina, which would be mostly tropical conditions.

Thanks guys, I'm a bit disappointed they cannot be left outside but they will make a very pretty indoor plant for winter. Only now I have to find a room with not heating :)

This looks like my 2 plants mated. Maybe C. repens is just somewhat variable. They sure seem different though. The one I'm not sure is C. repens is blooming but the other one (that looks like everybody else's pics of C. repens) is not. Does the plant you linked to ever get little purple spots on the leaves? Flowers?

Did you take any pics of the other one?

Although mine have two different names they look EXACTLY the same :?: and I have never seen any purplr spots but then I have only owned them for about a month. I shall take pics of the others and load them up so you can see.

It sounds like they probably are the same plant. One company just attached a cutesy name to make theirs more appealing, mysterious, make people think it's something they don't already have. Would definitely like to see. Smiles!
