My Camellia tree is in glorious bloom...covered in blossoms. It is such a joy to see those pink tones against all the greys and browns.

Oh My!! I wanna see too....

    Please????

I see after Googling them they come in other colors. I only knew about white ones. I also see they make Bonsai out of them.

Gives me some good ideas. I love your tree and it's flowers.

It is still small. The little frog in the front is between 10 and 12 inches tall so that can give you an idea of scale. In the Longwood Gardens Conservatory, which is about an hour from me, the display of these in the winter is amazing. The trees in there are probably close to 12 feet tall. Hopefully, I will get there after Christmas and take some photographs of the blooms. :stew2:

The tree receives good early morning sun and just a hint of midday before the sun slips over the house and the area is shaded.

If it blooms like that while small, each year as it matures the increased number of blooms will be stunning.

That is such a lovely little plant. My Camellia didn't survive the summer. I will try again though!

    VERY NICE!
I also bought one plant this spring and planted out in the garden. Took it really hard... many leaves fell off.
No idea what color it is or if it is meant for the outside.

That tree is really nice-looking. Like Toni said if it looks this way now in it's infantcy then as it gets older it will just look more and more impressive as time goes on.

    Well done, you!

Thanks everyone. Calin, mine also lost leaves when I planted it, and the growing tips turned brown. :( It really didn't look good for over a year, maybe even two...then this year all these beautiful blossoms. :-D I hope yours will do the same.

Oh no! Mine did that too. Except the branches were pretty brittle. I hope I didn't dig up a plant that wasn't quite dead yet!

I have always loved camelia's. My Dad had so many varieties planted in his yard including a few hybrids which were never named. My favorite's are the Rubra and Pink Perfection.
