Kids are funny! There are two grandchildren that are almost always next door. The two boys are both six and almost always in trouble due to curiosity.
Yesterday, I called to one to come over to the fence. I wanted to talk to him. He didn't want to come but his mom heard me call to him and she took his hand and brought him over. I said to him, "Well, I was going to cut a rose for you to give to your mom but since she is here I will just give it to her." I did and she said, "Thank you!"
This morning I went out to cut some basil for a marinade. I was bent over clipping it and when I stood up the little boy was standing by the fence. I said, "Good morning, what can I do for you?" He ducked his head and mumbled, "Can I have a flower, pwease?" I asked him what he wanted with the flower. He answered that he wanted it for his mama.
So, I took the clippers and looked over the roses. I asked if he wanted a big one or a little one. He answered, "A little one, pwease." I cut him a smaller rose and he went back to the house to give it to his mom. He's a cute little boy and by himself isn't a problem but put him in the same general area as his same age cousin and they are little terrors.

He sounds like a sweet little boy Dooley. Most kids would have asked for a big flower but he obviously knows that good things come in small packages. :-D

That's a sweet story Dooley. You sure are teaching the kids around there about the joys of gardening and flowers.
